Job Description

We're working with a local authority who are looking for a Procurement Manager with exposure to Commissioning and Public Health Services to review and retender a larger overarching social care and public health contract that has recently come to an end into smaller more targeted service area contracts.

Location: South West based Authority

Set-up: Remote working or when required in the office

Rate: £400-£450 per day via Umbrella (Inside IR35)

Duration: 6 months initially with likely extensions

Hours: Full-time or Part-time candidates considered

The work will include:

  • Lead market research/engagement and develop various tenders for Public Health and Social Services
  • Liaise with commissioners to gather contract feedback and conduct review of business-critical needs for each service
  • Manage end to end tender process to help push the recommissioned contracts out to market
  • Provide commercial assurance and strategic commercial direction including the co-ordination of related projects delivered throughout the contract
  • Identify opportunities for savings and contract improvement within commissioned services to improve experience, outcomes and value for money
  • Produce and present management information required by stakeholders, including, but not limited to those on provider performance, and information regarding the performance of the team

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience of procurement, or contract management and leading and implementing programmes
  • Experience working in tandem with a Public Health team, ideally with a focus on nursing, drug, alcohol and smoking
  • Experience of dealing with Social Care contracts and managing the end-to-end tender process in a Local Government setting
